Cubs Night Out

After waiting many weeks for
one of the Beachcombers favorite outings, Cubs Night Out at
Jackie Robinson Ballpark on June 13, the evening was finally
here. With it came the rains! At 4:45 pm the skies
were ominous as the rains and wind kept coming. Party
goers waited in their cars waiting for the skies to clear.
And they waited and waited. Meanwhile, the ballpark
personnel scurried around getting the picnic area dried and the
food prepared. Finally, the picnic area was opened to the
patient Beachcombers who did not waste any time in heading for
the liquid refreshments and food. 58 friends and family had
reserved tickets with 44 brave ones weathering the storm.
Only proof once again, the Beachcombers love a good party! |

| The rains subsided
but the field was soaked and the game was cancelled but the
party continued as Joel entertained us with his peanut
presentations. We were also treated to magnificent fire
works. |

| Save your tickets
folks! They may be used for another game. If you
would like to join a group that will be using their rained out
tickets on Thursday, July 2, Cubs Vs Jupiter, please come on
out. There will be $1.00 drafts all night long and
Independence Fireworks Extravaganza #2: presented by the U.S.
Marines. It will be a fun, social evening! Sorry no
picnic! |
